Pimp My Camera Bag

I had the opportunity to try my painting skills on something new the other week, my canvas being vintage camera bags!

I'm really into folk illustration so that style really inspired me during the making of these. I'll have to see if these are popular or not - if so I'll pimp up some more and get them in the shop!

The majority of these bags are on sale at Painted Black vintage shop in Crouch End, North London. There are two for sale in my Etsy shop here -

I bought these vintage stereoscope pictures a while ago and played about in photoshop with them. I love the one of the sea..

Your Mother Should Know

Today I had the opportunity to use my illustration skills and paint a window for up coming Mother's Day!
The window belonged to Painted Black, a beautiful vintage shop (which has won numerous awards, such as Best New Vintage Shop 2012!) in Crouch End, North London. The owner is a fan of The Beatles, and they had a suitable song for Mother's Day - 'Your Mother Should Know' so I chose that as a suitable subject to draw. The video is so awfully awkward, it's great - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xycaGZtusmo
I never knew how fun it would be to paint on a window!

My handmade pendants

Added my handmade necklaces to my Etsy shop. I source all the illustrations myself from my own collected vintage material or my own artwork. My favorite one is the Holland windmill, its going to be really hard to let that one go!
Click HERE if you would like to see them - I'll be making a lot more soon (just waiting for more materials to arrive) so keep your eyes peeled!

Early Day of the Dead

I'm going to start updating here more often, seeing how my website is down at the moment!

I've always fancied doing a kind of Day of the Dead style illustration. The vintage photograph was given to me by Amelia of Painted Black vintage shop, Crouch End (her shop is amazing, go there). She found it in a skip, the poor girl! So I guess I resurrected her ?!

Traditional narrow boat roses in photoshop

Experimenting to see if I can 'paint' traditional narrow boat roses using photoshop. This is the first time I've drawn in quite a while, I've been in a bit of a artistic slump lately. A week off work and a trip to London will hopefully inspire me out of it!

Delicious

Day Twenty Five drawing for my February Drawing Challenge. It's been a long time since I drew on my vintage photographs, I'd quite like to get into it again..
